At the donation ceremony, UNI-STAR donated more than 500 books to Changsha Village, covering a wide range of categories such as world famous books, humanities and social sciences, historical biographies, children's literature, children's picture books, science education and so on, which can meet the diverse reading needs of readers of different ages in Changsha Village.

Li Yonghong, secretary of the Party branch of UNI-STAR, said that rural revitalisation requires both shaping and soul-casting, and rural culture is the soul project of rural revitalisation. UNI-STAR's Village Library Public Welfare Programme went to Changsha Village this time to promote knowledge in the countryside through book donation and book sharing, and then to help the rural cultural revitalisation. As a leading cultural and creative enterprise in the industry, UNI-STAR hopes to contribute to the revitalisation of rural culture and the popularisation of knowledge in urban and rural areas.
Let the beautiful countryside be filled with the scent of books and bridge the "reading gap" between urban and rural areas.
At the activity site, the villagers of Changsha Village entered the cultural room, selected the books they were interested in, exchanged the good books they read in their daily lives, and shared their reading experiences, showing their positive learning attitude and joy of acquiring knowledge between their brows. Xiao Huang, a fourth grade student from Changsha Village, shared his insights from reading The Romance of the Three Kingdoms: "Sometimes it shocked me, sometimes it made me think, and sometimes it made my blood boil. In the process of reading, I learned a lot about history, and it also made me interested in history.

Changsha Village has always attached great importance to the development of cultural and social public facilities in the village, and has continued to improve the appearance of the village and build cultural support facilities. "At present, the cultural room built in our village has an area of more than 200 square metres, and we are very grateful to UNI-STAR, the donation has enriched the books in the cultural room, and we will arrange them properly and make careful use of them to further enrich the spiritual and cultural life of the villagers and promote the construction of reading culture in the village." Huang Jinghua, Secretary of Changsha Village Party Branch and Director of the Village Committee, introduced.

China Press and Publication Research Institute recently released the data of the 20th National Reading Survey, which shows that in 2022, the book reading rate of urban residents is 68.6%, and the book reading rate of rural residents is 50.2%, both of which have increased compared to the previous year, but there is still an obvious gap between the two. The "reading gap" between urban and rural residents epitomises the inequality of reading resources between urban and rural areas and the imperfect reading guidelines. The road to deepening rural reading and contributing to rural revitalisation is long and full of challenges. It is believed that with the attention and participation of social forces represented by UNI-STAR, the urban-rural "reading gap" will be accelerated and narrowed.
Creating a new model of three-dimensional support and multi-dimensional assistance for rural revitalisation.
Since 2014, "reading for all" has been included in the government work report for 11 consecutive years, and both the national 14th Five-Year Plan and the 2035 Vision Outline have explicitly proposed to "promote reading for all and build a 'book-scented China'". The national 14th Five-Year Plan and the 2035 Vision Outline have both explicitly proposed to "promote reading for all and build a 'bookish China'", which is a clear indication of the importance the state attaches to cultural construction and the promotion of reading. As a leading domestic digital cultural and creative enterprise, UNI-STAR has always actively responded to the state's call, fulfilled its social responsibilities and contributed its modest efforts to the high-quality development of the whole society.
According to reports, about half of the donated books came from UNI-STAR employees' own donations. "This book "Ask the Question" is the prize I won when I participated in the design competition at university, it carries my dream, every time I feel lost and confused, just look at it again, I feel restored and full of vitality. I hope I can pass on this enthusiasm for reading and the power of chasing dreams to more people. UNI-STAR employee Xiao Qin, who participated in the book donation, said.

Focusing on the issue of rural revitalisation, UNI-STAR has previously launched special public welfare initiatives such as "Star Table Tennis Rural Journey" and "ChengXin Aid-Farmer Charity Program". With the launch of UNI-STAR's Village Library Public Welfare Programme, UNI-STAR's Village Public Welfare Programme has formed a three-dimensional support programme that integrates sports support, consumer support, education support and public welfare support. In the future, UNI-STAR will adhere to the leadership of party building, integrate resources from all parties, and continue to innovate assistance initiatives to inject new kinetic energy into promoting rural revitalisation and development.
